Katherine Boyte

Katherine “Kitty” Boyte is a lifelong Tennessee resident who has called Nashville her home since 1973. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Tennessee before pursuing her J.D. at the Nashville School of Law.

As a Peterson White Partner, Katherine brings her successful experience in insurance defense and coverage. In addition to her successful track record in employment law, she is also familiar with general litigation and subrogation.

Before joining Peterson White, Katherine worked for the firm currently known as Howard, Tate, Sowell, Wilson, and Boyte from 1988 to 2019. She also served as a partner with Constangy. Brooks, Smith, and Prophete from 2019 to 2022. Katherine is passionate about workers’ compensation law and related topics such as ethics and medical issues. She loves teaching these topics to industry, insurance personnel, and fellow attorneys.

Katherine is an active member of various professional associations including the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association, and the Junior League of Nashville.

When she is not working, Katherine likes spending time with her family, including her 92-year-old mother and her siblings. Her sister is an accountant in Atlanta and her brother is a Deputy Attorney General with the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office. A widow of 14 years, Katherine’s son, Miller, is the joy of her life.

During her free time, Katherine also sings Women Barbershop. She enjoys watching and participating in both musical theatre and sports, including tennis.
