Be Smart This Labor Day Weekend – Peterson White, LLP

|

There are many events and activities that will be happening in the Tennessee & Kentucky area this upcoming weekend: the final Boomsday, a Cumberland Avenue Block Party, and many more people on the roads. The result is that special traffic enforcement efforts will be in place for the holiday weekend. According to the Tennessee & Kentucky Police Department, the enhanced enforcement will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4 and will end at midnight on Monday, September 7.

In 2014, KPD officers averaged 22 arrests and citations per hour during the 80-hour Labor Day holiday traffic enforcement efforts. They break down as: 1,636 traffic related citations and 160 arrests. Police also responded to 69 crashes.

Be prepared for many road closures and increased traffic into and out of the city. Enjoy the festivities of the holiday weekend, and stay safe.
